An independent researcher and respected authority on the science of nutritional immunology, Dr. Barry Ritz analyzes the validity of all the latest scientific research and leads an innovation team of Atrium scientists to leverage the most exciting findings to further the company’s growth. First and foremost a scientist and academic, Dr. Ritz has been involved in the nutritional supplement industry since 1999 and is driven to promote the benefits of science-based nutritional health to healthcare professionals. Simply put, he believes in nutrition for the future of medicine. A PhD in the growing field of nutritional immunology who has conducted vast research on how nutrition can influence immune response and healthy aging, Barry has taken on a leadership role in the industry – just like Atrium – making him the obvious choice as Atrium’s VP of Scientific Affairs. At Atrium since October 2008, Barry chairs an innovation committee of scientists from the Atrium family who explore opportunities for product development and synergies. He is also the pivot who communicates with everyone to move these projects forward, designing clinical trials, contracting the right basic and clinical research partners such as universities, and overseeing the implementation and progress of the research programs. As a published Research Assistant Professor of nutritional biochemistry and immunology at Drexel University with access to an independent university laboratory and a gift for public speaking, Barry is in a unique position further Atrium’s mission to advance the nutritional health industry through science. It is all part of his intense desire to help create more momentum in the field and watch his young family grow up healthy. |
