David has held the position of Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Atrium Innovations since 2011.
At Atrium, David has oversight of all legal and corporate compliance matters involving Atrium and its group companies. David manages the day-to-day activities of Atrium’s legal department, which include areas such as contract review and negotiation, corporate governance, as well as risk and litigation management. Given Atrium’s geographic footprint, David’s activities often have an international dimension.
Prior to joining Atrium, David was a partner at the law firm of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg, where he specialized in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial law. In addition, David also practiced law with Clifford Chance in its London office earlier in his career.
David firmly believes in striving for and maintaining a healthy and balanced life, at work and at home. As an athletic year-round runner and avid cyclist, David is a big fan of many of Atrium’s great brands and uses some key supplements to help keep himself in top shape both at work and at play. David also believes in the importance of giving back to the community, and he sits on the board of Étudiants dans la course/Students in the Running, a not-for-profit organization whose mission it is to challenge at-risk high school students to experience the benefits of goal-setting, character development, adult mentoring and improved health by providing them with a life-changing experience: training for and running the Montreal Marathon.
David lives in Montreal with his lovely wife and their two young children. He is a member of the Quebec Bar and a non-practicing solicitor of the Law Society of England & Wales. He has LL.L and LL.B degrees from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University.
